Falls Creek Alpine Resort sits at 1,600 metres in the Victorian Alps within the Alpine National Park, roughly 350 kilometres from Melbourne. Victoria's largest ski field in winter, with more than 90 runs served by 14 lifts, it transforms in summer into a destination for mountain biking, hiking, trail running, and watersports. A compact car-free village sits at the heart of the resort with ski-in, ski-out access to accommodation, dining, and facilities.
During the snow season, which typically runs from late June to mid-September, Falls Creek offers beginner, intermediate, and advanced terrain across a mix of groomed runs and off-piste areas. The resort also maintains an extensive network of groomed cross-country trails. A daily resort entry permit is required during the declared snow season and is purchased online in advance; in summer, vehicle entry is free.
Summer at Falls Creek brings a quieter but equally scenic experience. Mountain biking trails wind through alpine meadows, the Bogong High Plains walk connects Falls Creek to Mount Hotham, and the resort's natural lakes and grasslands provide a striking backdrop for hiking and wildflower spotting between December and February.
Access is via the Bogong High Plains Road from Mount Beauty, approximately 30 kilometres from the resort. Snow chains are compulsory during winter. The resort entry ticket box operates during the snow season, with online purchase available for all arrivals.
